HUMANISM: HUMANISTIC IDEAS, CURRENTS, AND PARADIGMS IN POLISH CULTURE is a research project that will be carried out over the years 2008-2010 by a team of researchers from Polish and foreign universities. The main executor of the project is the University of Warsaw (The Institute of Interdisciplinary Research "Artes Liberales"), and the responsibility for carrying out individual research tasks lies with the directors - the members of the Scholarly Committee working under the direction of Professor Alina Nowicka-Jeżowa.

The primary goal of the project is the composite presentation of the tradition of Polish Humanism, and thus of that portion of the Polish cultural patrimony that, arising and developing in intellectual dialogue with the centers of European humanistic thought, took on its own separate form and became not only one of the most valuable achievements of older Polish culture, but also an important source of inspiration for the present day.

Its purpose is to present the assumptions and goals of the project, to report on current research and organizational work, to facilitate the exchange of opinions and discussion, and to disseminate the results of the research.
